Description
RP 92/100 points 2025-2040
From old, ungrafted vines and bottled not earlier than April this year, the 2020 Enkircher Steffensberg Alte Reben Riesling Wurzelecht opens with a clear, intense and spicy bouquet of ripe and intense Riesling fruit spiced with fennel seed and cumin notes. Mouthfilling and rich yet savory and fresh on the palate, this is a full-bodied, saline and grippy almost-dry Riesling. The crystalline acidity uplifts this round and seductive Riesling that once more proves that genetics always matters, possibly more than anything else when it comes to building the character of a wine. 11.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork stopper. Tasted in November 2022.
